My dashboard crash bar was in a bad way. The “padding” inside had crumbled and broken. The vinyl was old and worn. It was obvious it needed attention and I was sure that it could be fixed quite easily. However, after taking it apart, it was obvious that it would need completely rebuilding. My rear anti-roll bar had perished bushes when I got my car, so I never fitted it. However, I wanted to try it out on the car so I made some new bushes using rubber solution. Find out more here

The MGB fuel tank is flat bottomed so I always had a problem with fuel starvation whenever I had anything less than half a tank of fuel so I decided to do something about it. I built a baffle to go around the fuel pickup. I can now drive the car without problem even when very low on fuel. Find out more here

I could never understand quite why my brakes weren’t as good as I thought they should be. I mean, I’d upgraded them with big calipers and v8 discs. They should work REALLY well. I began to suspect that perhaps the brake servo wasn’t giving as much assistance as it should so I decided to do a vacuum test on it. Turns out it’s not holding a vacuum and needs replacing.
